What are blogs?

A blog (short for web log) is the term used to describe a website containing the thoughts and comments of an individual or more and more commonly a company or institution. Typically these are made up of text, images, links and other media and are displayed in reverse-chronological order.

Many blogs are concentrated around a topic and generally encourage other users to post comments back in reply to the main body of the blog entry, thus providing a social-networking function.

Although blogs are not new they are now often grouped into the array of services described as Web2.0 mainly for there interactive nature.
